Volunteer roles

Choose a role that fits your energy, schedule, and comfort level. The team will follow up with details before festival day.

Welcome Team

Greet families, answer basic questions, and help guests find activities.

Kids Activities

Support creative stations, games, lines, and safe transitions between activities.

Stage Support

Help performers, stage flow, cueing, and behind-the-scenes communication.

Vendor Support

Assist vendor check-in, setup questions, and simple wayfinding around the market.

Setup & Close

Support morning prep, signage, supplies, cleanup, and end-of-day organization.

Language Help

Help families and participants feel comfortable across languages when possible.

Who can help

A good fit for teens, adults, teams, and community groups

Volunteer support is welcome from individuals, families, student groups, youth teams, business teams, and community organizations that want to serve Portland families.

  • Friendly, reliable, and comfortable working around families.
  • Able to follow event team instructions and ask questions early.
  • Available for a festival shift, setup, close, or a full-day role.
  • Bilingual or multilingual helpers are especially welcome.
